StandWithUs Thanks Florida for Passing the Nation’s Strongest Anti-BDS Law

(Tallahassee, Florida, July 10, 2025) — StandWithUs thanks Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for signing SB 1678 into law on June 30, 2025. The new law builds on Florida’s existing policies against boycotts of Israel. It now makes sure that the state won’t do business with, invest in, or give grants to schools, non-profits, or governments - whether in the U.S. or other countries - if they take part in discriminatory boycotts against Israel.
StandWithUs’s Director of Policy Education, Jordan Cope, Esq. stated, “With the passage of the strongest anti-BDS law to date, Florida has affirmed its role as a steadfast ally of the Jewish people and a leader in the fight against antisemitism. This landmark legislation sends a powerful message—not only across the U.S., where antisemitism is rising, but also globally, as countries like Ireland consider discriminatory boycotts of Israeli goods. Nations pursuing such policies should be put on notice that there may be real economic consequences for engaging in anti-Israel discrimination.”
